The wake of a yawed square cylinder undergoing steady flow was examined by employing particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique. present study is concerned with the independence principle (IP) for examining effect yaw angle (α) on velocity signals and vortical structures. normalized Strouhal number indicates that IP no longer applicable when α reaches 45°. At = 45°, distorted vorticity contour reduction strength, imply significant angle. generation axial from base makes communication between shear layers more difficult hence weakens vortex shedding process, which manifests strong three-dimensionality wake, resulting in invalidity
